I woke up this morning feeling like I’d already been doing this program for SO LONG, and really just not looking forward to eating any of the fuelings. Haha. Three days, y’all. I had a couple of bum experiences yesterday with the fuelings, and the soup was just…awful. But then I weighed myself and saw that I was down 4.8 pounds in those three days, and I got my little self downstairs to mix up a shake!
1st Fueling: Creamy Chocolate Shake
I went back to the chocolate shake, since I’d not enjoyed the other two, and that was a good idea. This shake is something I could drink every day, I think, and I should probably write it down to remember to order more of it if I decide to do this for another month.
2nd Fueling: Silky Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Bar
Uh, in a nutshell: tasty and tiny. I liked the flavor a lot, and it was less metallic than the other bars I’ve had, but it was so eensy weensy. It’s a bar for a baby child. Or a person who is not hungry.
3rd Fueling: Garlic Mashed Potatoes
Epic waffle fail. I had this one a couple of days ago, and I was trying to choose things I knew I’d like since yesterday was such a bust, but I forgot that I added less water than it calls for when I made it into a waffle a couple of days ago, and it did not. go. well. There was potato water spilling out of the side of the waffle maker, there were mashed potatoes stuck in there and burning, there was me methodically picking out mashed potato bits from between the very hot rows of a waffle grid and popping them in my mouth determinedly…It was a mess, but I was committed man. You can’t take water OUT of the potato powder. I ate it, and it was ugly, but still tasted mostly fine. Note to self: less water. Ada (my 4 year old) came in while i was doing the scraping and the mouth cramming, and she was like, “Oh nooooo,” and I thought–YES. We feel the same.
4th Fueling: Drizzle Chocolate Fudge Crisp
I stayed in bed a bit later than usual today, and so my whole eating schedule was a bit off. I was planning on having Taco Salad for my lean and green, but I didn’t manage my time well, and it was looking like I’d have just enough time to get everything cooked and seasoned and the lettuce washed and chopped and everything assembled and no time to eat it haha. It would be time to take the kids up to start the bedtime routine, and while some nights I’m fine with them being half an hour later to bed–tonight was not one of those nights. So, I ate a bar, since I have SO MANY of them, and I know that they don’t hold me for very long. I’d rather eat one when I know I’m going to be getting food again really soon. This one was fine. I can’t actually remember very much about it, so it must not have been very memorable. Haha. This is going to be so helpful when I look back to see what I thought of this bar.
Lean and Green: Taco Salad
3 cups of chopped lettuce, about 4 ounces of seasoned 96% lean ground beef, a little bit of melted cheese, and a couple of tablespoons of salsa. I did not measure the salsa. I’m probably supposed to. There’s probably a whole page in this LifeBook they sent me on why it’s important to measure your salsa, but I haven’t read that. It’s very thick and looks super boring. Taco salad is delicious, but I didn’t feel great after dinner. I’m not sure if it’s my gallbladder not liking all of the beef that I’ve had in the last few days, or if it’s just my body trying to adjust to all of this weird food, or what. It was only mild discomfort, though.
5th Fueling: Creamy Double Peanut Butter Crisp
That’s right. A third bar. But I have so many bars, and I wasn’t hungry after eating that massive salad. I had this one a couple of days ago and thought that it tasted metallic, but I enjoyed this one. Does that mean it’s happening to me? Are my taste buds changing/dying? I don’t know if I should be excited or concerned.
